YOLO (You Only Look Once) is a state-of-the-art, real-time object detection system that processes images quickly and accurately.

YOLO is an object detection system that uses a single neural network to process an entire image. This network divides the image into regions and predicts bounding boxes and probabilities for each region, which are then weighted by their predicted probabilities. This approach allows YOLO to consider the global context of an image during detection and makes it significantly faster than classifier-based systems like R-CNN, which require thousands of network evaluations per image. YOLOv3, an incremental improvement, incorporates multi-scale predictions and a better backbone classifier to enhance training and performance. The system can be used with pre-trained models for immediate object detection on images, video files, or live webcam feeds. Users can also train YOLO from scratch on custom datasets like Pascal VOC or COCO, allowing for experimentation with different training regimes, hyperparameters, and datasets. The Darknet framework provides the necessary tools and scripts for setup and training.
