SmartReply for YouTube Creators helps creators respond to comments more easily by suggesting quick, relevant replies in English and Spanish.

SmartReply for YouTube Creators is an AI-powered feature integrated into YouTube Studio designed to assist creators in engaging with their audience. It provides suggested replies to comments on their videos, simplifying the interaction process. This system is an evolution of the SmartReply technology previously used in Gmail and Android Messages, adapted specifically for the unique linguistic patterns found in YouTube comments, which often include slang, emojis, and language switching. The underlying model utilizes a computationally efficient dilated self-attention network, making it the first cross-lingual and character byte-based SmartReply model. This approach allows the system to process diverse content without extensive preprocessing and supports a single model for multiple languages, currently English and Spanish, with future expansion planned. It learns comment and reply representations to generate appropriate suggestions, even aligning replies across different languages based on meaning.
