These models are pretrained on a meticulously designed Mathematics-specific Corpus, including high-quality mathematical web texts, books, codes, exam questions, and synthesized mathematical pre-training data. The models have been evaluated on various English and Chinese math benchmarks, including GSM8K, Math, MMLU-STEM, CMATH, GaoKao Math Cloze, and GaoKao Math QA. The largest model, Qwen2-Math-72B-Instruct, has demonstrated performance that surpasses state-of-the-art models like GPT-4o, Claude-3.5-Sonnet, Gemini-1.5-Pro, and Llama-3.1-405B in mathematical problem-solving. The instruction-tuned versions utilize a math-specific reward model combined with a binary signal for correctness, used in Rejection Sampling and Group Relative Policy Optimization (GRPO).
