Qwen2.5-1M is an open-source large language model series designed for long-context processing, supporting up to 1 million tokens.
Qwen2.5-1M is an open-source series of large language models, including Qwen2.5-7B-Instruct-1M and Qwen2.5-14B-Instruct-1M, capable of handling context lengths up to one million tokens. This release also includes an open-source inference framework based on vLLM, which integrates sparse attention methods to accelerate processing of 1M-token inputs by 3x to 7x. The models are accompanied by a technical report detailing their design, training, and inference frameworks.
The models demonstrate strong performance in both long-context and short-text tasks. They significantly outperform their 128K context length predecessors in long-context scenarios and maintain comparable performance on short-text tasks. The Qwen2.5-14B-Instruct-1M model, in particular, shows superior performance to Qwen2.5-Turbo and GPT-4o-mini across multiple datasets for long-context tasks. Key techniques include progressive long-context training, Dual Chunk Attention (DCA) for length extrapolation, and sparse attention for efficient inference.
Key Features
- 1M-token context length support
- Open-source models (7B and 14B parameters)
- Open-source inference framework based on vLLM
- Sparse attention for accelerated inference (3x-7x faster)
- Dual Chunk Attention (DCA) for length extrapolation
- Optimized for long-context and short-text tasks
- OpenAI-compatible API service for local deployment
Pros
- Supports extremely long context lengths up to 1 million tokens
- Open-source models and inference framework for local deployment
