cardstream provides open-source, real-time AI identification of trading cards and sports cards from live video streams.
cardstream is an open-source tool designed for real-time identification of trading cards and sports cards during live streams. It watches video feeds and identifies cards the moment they appear, providing details like name, set, and confidence level. The system is built for live commerce sellers, box breaks, and collection cataloguing, supporting various stream sources like webcams, video files, RTSP, RTMP, and SRT.
The core technology uses a state machine and local gates (motion, identity) to minimize API calls, only triggering an identification when a genuinely new, settled card is detected. While it integrates with Ximilar's API for identification out-of-the-box, it also allows users to plug in proprietary recognizers or self-trained models. Future plans include identification for graded slabs and comic books.
